My name is Sue and I’ve been cooking for my family and friends for as long as I can remember. I believe that good food is an integral part of our lives, not only for fuel and nutrition, but also for happiness, well-being and keeping great social relationships with family and friends.
I enjoy cooking from scratch, but appreciate that not everyone has the time or desire to do this all the time. Hence, the idea to launch a “home cooking” service, to provide fresh meals, made from natural, locally sourced ingredients, to help more people come together and enjoy “honest”, traditional good food.
My foodie background was inspired by my father, who would spend time planning, experimenting and preparing meals, which led me to university and then a career in catering. Over the years, I moved through management roles, into retail and for the last 10 years I taught food and cooking in high school. Alongside developing and growing “Sue’s Home Cooking”, I am continuing to support the development of cooking skills through projects targeting young people and community groups in and around the Stoke on Trent area.
All the meals I cook are prepared fresh, to order. I support the use of local suppliers where possible, to help sustain our local, rural economy and choose ethically produced ingredients, where available. I believe that using the best ingredients, not only provides great flavour, but is also important for health and the environment.
I hope to reach a wide range of customers - busy families, working people, older folks and holiday makers, to name a few! I aim to take the stress out of meal planning, food shopping and cooking, and deliver you something homemade and packed full with natural goodness.
Get in touch with comments and suggestions – I really want to hear how I can best serve the needs of customers and help you enjoy sitting down and enjoying great food!
I would love to hear from you with feedback about meals you have tried and meals you would like to try.
